Thanksgiving Proposal Prompts It's almost the big day. You've decided you will ask the love of your life to marry you on Thanksgiving, surrounded by loved ones and reflecting on what you're thankful for. You have the engagement ring, and you have been scoping out wedding rings for her as well. Now all you need to do is put your feelings into words! Even if you are normally outgoing and comfortable with making speeches, do yourself a favor and write out a draft of what you want to say. It's easy to get caught up in the emotion of the moment and draw a blank on everything you planned to tell her! Write down something from the heart, and practice it out loud until it comes naturally. Here are a few prompts to get you started. Thanksgiving by my trio rings

1. I'm thankful for…

If you are planning a Thanksgiving proposal in front of the family, think it through carefully beforehand to make sure it's something she will appreciate or if she'd prefer something more intimate with just the two of you. If you know she'd want the more public grand gesture, plan with her family to have a discussion around the table where each person shares what he or she is thankful for - with you going last. This is the perfect introduction for you to speak about the happiness she has brought to your life and how you would be so thankful if she accepted your proposal.

2. A yearly reflection

It's almost the end of the year and a time when we naturally reflect on the past 12 months and set goals for the future. Think about your past year together. When were you happiest together? When did you feel most connected? When were you sure you wanted to spend the rest of your life with her? Use these thoughts in your Thanksgiving proposal. When the two of you are alone - perhaps before you go to celebrate with family or friends - tell her about the milestones you two shared during the last year. Tell her all the reasons why you know she is the one for you, then ask her if she will be your wife next year and the many years after that one.

3. Promises

When you get married, you make vows to love, protect, support and cherish one another through all that life throws at you. Take this opportunity to tell her all the ways you will do this for her - not in front of the congregation on your wedding day, but when it's just the two of you and you're asking her to marry you.
