Proposing at Fenway Park

by Kelly Smith on Oct 01 in Proposal

Picture this. It is a sunny fall afternoon. You surprise your boyfriend with tickets to see the Red Sox at Fenway Park. You find your seats in the historic stadium and kick back to enjoy your favorite baseball snacks. You cheer together for the home run hit in the first inning. You begin to relax and unwind and leave the outside world behind as the Sox begin to pulverize the Yankees. At the end of the third inning, your boyfriend sits stock still and stares at the New Balance scoreboard.

Sure enough, you turn to see your message up on the big screen. “Will you marry me?”

If you would like to propose at Fenway park, it is a pretty easy process. You don’t even need to have the mangagement ring in hand! You simply need to call Fan Services at 617-226-6831 or email Jae Holland at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to make arrangements.

According to the Red Sox website, “Scoreboard message orders should be placed at least 1 day prior to the game date requested. Due to high demand and limited space, however, many games fill-up well before this deadline. Accordingly, fans are encouraged to place their order well in advance of the game date on which they would like their message to appear.” Basically, the more advance notice you can give, the more likely that the proposal message can be inserted into the lineup on the date of your choice.

For a more basic proposal package, there is a minimum donation of $250 if you choose to propose at Fenway Park on the big screen. This donation goes to the Red Sox Charitable Foundation that benefits children in need. You can also choose a $350 proposal package that includes the scoreboard message, a video board message, and a visit from the team mascot. Or if funds are tight, nobody is going to stop you from getting down on one knee somewhere in the stadium. If you want a memorable proposal for your sports fan, then propose at Fenway Park. If you hurry, you might even be able to squeeze in a proposal at this week's series between the Sox and the Yanks!

When you get home from the game, make sure to pick out matching engagement and wedding trio ring sets together like thousands of other couples!
