Proposal

best places to propose at dodger stadiumYou and your sweetheart are huge Dodgers fans. You rarely (if ever) miss a game, and the Dodgers jersey you wear is so worn that it’s the most comfortable shirt you own. Since the Dodgers are such an integral part of your life as a couple, why not do a ballpark proposal at Dodger Stadium?

Here are the best ways to propose at Dodger Stadium:

Wall of Fame

If you really want to plan a surprise, have your proposal inscribed on a bat or a baseball on the Dodger’s Foundation’s “Community Wall of Fame.” Your proposal and proclamation of love will be immortalized in the hallways of Dodger Stadium. It costs $75 or $250 and can be ordered online.

Ribbon Board Message

Surprise the love of your life with a ribbon board message proposal and a diamond cluster ring! The message appears at the end of the 5th inning, immediately after the third out is recorded at the bottom of the fifth inning. It will appear on the ribbon board located below the Left Field Dodger Vision, which is above the Left Field Pavilion, so make sure your seats have a good view! About 6 to 8 weeks after the game, you’ll also receive a 5x7 color photo of the message to commemorate the occasion. Messages cannot exceed 40 characters, including punctuation and spaces. Board messages cost $50 and can now be purchased online.

Take a Tour

Take your sweetheart on a tour of baseball’s third-oldest stadium and use that opportunity to pop the question. The 90-minute tour allows fans to see the restricted and non-public areas of the stadium. Tours are given at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and tickets can be purchased online.

Of course, you can always get good seats in a box and simply propose with a beautiful diamond engagement ring during an exciting moment during the game.

To celebrate your happy news, you can call Fan Services at 323.224.1507 to book an engagement photo session at Dodger Stadium.

Proposal

You and the love of your life can’t get enough of baseball season. You are crazy about the San Diego Padres and have spent many sunny days cheering on your team and enjoying gourmet tacos and local microbrews. If you’re ready to pop the question, what better place than at Petco Park, home of your beloved Padres?

Here are a few ideas for planning your romantic proposal at Petco Park:

Take an Early Bird Game Day Tour

Go behind the scenes and get an insider’s look at the ballpark. Sign up in advance for an Early Bird Tour, which takes place before every game except Opening Day, Sundays and 12:35 p.m. weekday games. You will explore the press box, the Western Metal Supply Company Building, the view from the first row and maybe even get an exclusive peek at batting practice. Find a spot with a great view of the park and propose with a diamond engagement ring or matching wedding bands

Create a Scoreboard Surprise

Reserve your spot early and display your proposal message on the right field scoreboard. It will appear sometime between the middle of the third inning and the end of the sixth inning, so get ready for your big moment and make sure your sweetheart is paying attention. A scoreboard message costs $55, contains up to 120 characters and must be reserved 24 to 48 hours in advance.

Get a Good Spot

Not sure how you want to propose at Petco Park? Splurge on a couple of good seats in the Field Box VIP or Premier Club section, and get close to the action. Take advantage of an exciting moment in the game - such as a home run or a stolen base - to celebrate with your romantic proposal.

Proposal

Thanks to a vibrant arts and culture scene and an active community of young people, Mississippi's capital city is up and coming. On weekday evenings, you can find a local band playing on the porch of a coffee shop in historic Fondren; on the weekends, there's likely to be a family-friendly outdoor festival downtown. Although you may have never had the opportunity to visit Jackson before, you'll enjoy exploring all that the city has to offer. Here are a few of the best places to propose.

In the Beautiful Outdoors

Mississippi is known for its natural beauty, with its majestic oaks and expansive spaces for camping, hiking, and kayaking. The Natchez Trace is a scenic road that runs from Natchez, MS, to Nashville, TN, with plenty of sights along the way. Take a drive or a bike ride with your sweetheart and stop at the historic attractions along the way. The Ross Barnett Reservoir is a lovely spot for a hike or a picnic. Stop at the overlook (milepost 105.6) at sunset, take a knee, and surprise her with a diamond cluster ring!

Mynelle Gardens is another picturesque destination, popular for weddings and engagement photo shoots. You and your lady can listen to the songbirds as you walk hand through several different botanical gardens, which feature curving footpaths, reflective pools, and quaint bridges.

In an Upscale Restaurant

Parlor Market is, hands down, one of the best restaurants in the South. The menu, which changes regularly, features locally grown produce, sustainably raised meats, and plenty of seafood and wild game. Treat yourself to dishes like fried oyster salad with comeback sauce and homemade ricotta. Then order a rich dessert like the Walk Down Memory Lane, an assortment of fancied-up childhood treats. Make sure to browse the list of creative cocktails, which feature uncommon ingredients such as hibiscus syrup, honeysuckle vodka, and cilantro. The atmosphere and service are impeccable, and you will walk away with a full belly and a smile on your face.

BRAVO! is the kind of Italian bistro that is both classy and inviting. The soft lighting and the open kitchen create a lovely ambience, and the menu is so appealing that you'll want to try a bit of everything. Wood-fired pizza, pasta, and seafood are the restaurant's specialties, as well as its tiramisu and award-winning wine list. The friendly staff will be sure to accommodate you if you ask them to bring a little something extra to the table for your lady: a sparkling diamond cluster ring

At a Charming Inn

One of the best places to propose in Jackson, MS, is the historic Fairview Inn, the only hotel in Jackson rated four diamonds by AAA. You'll feel as if you've stepped back in time as you enter the 1908 Colonial Revival mansion. Schedule a couples massage in the spa and relax together. Eat a leisurely meal at the elegant Sophia's restaurant, have a cocktail in The Library (the old library has been renovated into a bar), and retire to a room with its own name and unique decor.

The Old Capitol Inn is a designer boutique hotel with old-world charm. Splurge on a jacuzzi suite with a view of the city, and eat a complimentary Southern-style breakfast in the morning. Explore downtown Jackson during the day, but come back for the complimentary wine and cheese served every evening. You and your sweetie will enjoy some much-deserved pampering together!

3 Ideas for Your Romantic Beach Proposal

Proposal

What could be more romantic than a stretch of white sand, gently crashing waves and the perfect engagement ring? Take advantage of the beautiful weather this time of year, and plan an unforgettable beach proposal in your favorite spot.

3 Ways to Pop the Question

1. Sand-written

This approach is beautiful in its simplicity. Before you propose, find a spot off the beaten path - perhaps behind a sand dune or another protected area - where your message won’t be erased by waves or passersby. Write in the sand in large letters, “Will you marry me?” (you could also compose the letters out of white rocks) and plan a walk along the beach with your girlfriend. Pretend to stumble across the message, then when she reads it, get down on one knee and propose with a sparkling diamond engagement ring.

2. Dinner on the shore

Enlist the help of a few trustworthy friends to help set up your beach proposal. While you and your sweetheart are out and about in the afternoon, your friends will set up a special dinner for two on the beach - a table and two chairs (sturdy so they won’t blow away), flowers, candles, a bottle of sparkling wine on ice and a meal from your girlfriend’s favorite restaurant. Pop the question when you arrive at this private restaurant on the beach, then enjoy your romantic dinner.

3. A secret message

Find an antique glass bottle or hinged box at a thrift store or antique market. Write your proposal on a small slip of paper and place it in the bottle or box, then have a friend bury it halfway in the sand and stand guard from a hidden spot. Take a walk with your girlfriend along the water, and make sure she sees the hidden treasure. When she opens it and reads the note, have her diamond engagement ring ready to put on!

3 Creative Proposal Ideas for the Spring

Proposal

creative proposal ideasAs summer approaches, there's still time for you to plan a spring proposal! Spring is a lovely time of year to propose because everything is in bloom, signifying the new life that you're about to start with your sweetheart. The scent of flowers wafts through the air, and the weather is perfect for an outdoor proposal. Here are three creative proposal ideas to consider.

1. Nature Walk

We say "nature walk" rather than "hike," because only the fittest and most outdoorsy of folks find sweat and sore muscles romantic! A pleasantly paced stroll, where you can walk hand in hand, is a safer bet. Choose a scenic park with tree-lined trails, or a local botanical garden. If your first date was out in nature, or on a pretty university campus, take her back to that spot.

If there's space to spread out a blanket, pack a picnic. If you can make sure she won't open the basket in advance, tape a love note to each picnic item and have her pull them out one by one. Write "Will You Marry Me?" on the last note. Extra points if it's attached to her favorite food!

2. Scavenger Hunt

A creative proposal idea for temperate weather is planning a scavenger hunt around town. Make a list of places that are special to both of you: the place where you met, where you shared your first kiss, and your favorite restaurant, for example. Then write clues that will lead her from one place to another (don't make them too hard!) and place them shortly before you propose. If you leave the clues with any people, make sure that they know about their important role in your proposal, and the approximate time you'll be arriving. In the last location, plan to get down on one knee and surprise her with a sparkling diamond cluster ring!

3. Buried Treasure

If your lady loves the beach, find a spot with a nearby landmark and bury a message in a bottle in the sand. In the message, write how much she means to you. Make sure that the bottle is fully covered, so no one else digs it up! When you arrive at the beach, give your sweetie a treasure map and have her dig at the X. After she reads your letter, take a knee in the sand and pop the question.

Bonus: Get her dog involved in the proposal! See our previous post, "Creative Proposal Ideas Involving Her Dog."
