Proposal

With YouTube, Facebook, and so many other social media options, the stakes can be higher when you are planning a creative proposal. Sure, she will probably say yes, but how many hits will your proposal video get on YouTube? How many likes will it get on Facebook? No matter what your creative proposal idea, here are a few simple tips to get you started on the right track.

1. Get the Right Ring

One recent creative proposal occurred when a soldier and his girlfriend of three years were interviewed on live TV. Her tears began as she saw him reach into his pocket for a ring box and get down on one knee. He was excited that she said yes – and also that he got the right diamond cluster ring size for her finger. You may not be able to pull off an on-screen proposal of this magnitude. But if you do choose a public proposal of any kind, from a broadcast to a baseball game to a bar, you will likely wish to be absolutely certain of the ring size (and style) so that she can put the ring on and show it off to everyone right away!

2. Get Her Friends Involved

Various flash mob proposals and lip sync proposals have hit the airwaves lately and become wildly popular. Think about how you could personalize a creative proposal that involves the people and places she loves the most. Or if you are thinking of a more private proposal, her girlfriends and sisters are an excellent source for information about what she would find to be the most romantic.

3. Scare Her?

One Romeo recently faked his own death before proposing to his girlfriend. Just a hint guys – many women aren’t going to be thrilled with those kinds of proposal dramatics. But apparently some women do like a little thrill in their creative proposal. For example, a pilot recently staged an in-air emergency that required his girlfriend to read an emergency manual with a proposal hidden inside, transforming her expression from terror to joy.

Whatever your creative proposal idea, start shopping for a diamond cluster ring today!

5 Tips for Proposing on Thanksgiving

Proposal

It is now October, and before you know it, the holiday season – and the proposal season – will be here. Thanksgiving, for example, is a time to share love and togetherness with family and friends. It is time to share food and fellowship with no ulterior motive except expressing our gratitude and enjoying each other’s company. As a time of thankfulness and togetherness, it is also an excellent time to show gratitude for the love in your life by proposing on Thanksgiving. So pick out a diamond solitaire engagement ring and get started with your proposal plan!

Ideas for Proposing on Thanksgiving

1. Many people have a Thanksgiving tradition of taking a long walk or hike on Thanksgiving to get some fresh air and burn some calories before or after the big meal. If hiking is on your turkey day agenda, just choose a particularly scenic or meaningful hiking destination, and find the best moment for the big reveal of the diamond solitaire engagement ring.

2. You are thankful for all that your girlfriend brings to your life. When sharing gratitude around the Thanksgiving dinner table, share all that you are thankful for about her, and punctuate your heartfelt remarks by asking her to spend the rest of her life with you.

3. Spend the morning in the kitchen together, cooking cranberries and squash, making bread, preparing the turkey. Come from behind when she is stirring one of the many bowls on the counter and give her a surprise hug with a diamond solitaire engagement ring in your hand.

4. Once both of you are full of delicious food and happy thoughts, bring pumpkin pie, apple pie, and coffee to the table. Bring her a cup of coffee or tea with a ring hidden between the saucer and the coffee cup that she will find when she begins to sip her drink.

5. If you are thinking about proposing on Thanksgiving, think about what other activities you are likely to engage in. Do you have a family tradition to work puzzles or play board games? Hide a ring box in with the game or puzzle before asking her to help set up the game to play.

Proposing at Fenway Park

Proposal

Picture this. It is a sunny fall afternoon. You surprise your boyfriend with tickets to see the Red Sox at Fenway Park. You find your seats in the historic stadium and kick back to enjoy your favorite baseball snacks. You cheer together for the home run hit in the first inning. You begin to relax and unwind and leave the outside world behind as the Sox begin to pulverize the Yankees. At the end of the third inning, your boyfriend sits stock still and stares at the New Balance scoreboard.

Sure enough, you turn to see your message up on the big screen. “Will you marry me?”

If you would like to propose at Fenway park, it is a pretty easy process. You don’t even need to have the mangagement ring in hand! You simply need to call Fan Services at 617-226-6831 or email Jae Holland at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to make arrangements.

According to the Red Sox website, “Scoreboard message orders should be placed at least 1 day prior to the game date requested. Due to high demand and limited space, however, many games fill-up well before this deadline. Accordingly, fans are encouraged to place their order well in advance of the game date on which they would like their message to appear.” Basically, the more advance notice you can give, the more likely that the proposal message can be inserted into the lineup on the date of your choice.

For a more basic proposal package, there is a minimum donation of $250 if you choose to propose at Fenway Park on the big screen. This donation goes to the Red Sox Charitable Foundation that benefits children in need. You can also choose a $350 proposal package that includes the scoreboard message, a video board message, and a visit from the team mascot. Or if funds are tight, nobody is going to stop you from getting down on one knee somewhere in the stadium. If you want a memorable proposal for your sports fan, then propose at Fenway Park. If you hurry, you might even be able to squeeze in a proposal at this week's series between the Sox and the Yanks!

10 Reasons to Propose this Fall

1. You know that he is the one.

7. You can afford a budget wedding.

You are in a good financial situation as a couple to be able to afford to plan and execute a budget wedding in the near future.

Proposal

The Precious Places series continues, with Denver, Colorado in this week’s spotlight. From professional sports to the arts to outdoor activities, Denver is a diverse city that offers something to everyone.  If you’re ready to get engaged, then pick out an inexpensive engagement ring and get started!

Best Places to Propose in Denver

1. In a Garden

If you are looking for the best places to propose in Denver, you may not have to look any further than the Denver Botanic Gardens. With three different locations, the gardens feature a wide variety of landscapes, trails, and plants. Whether you wish to propose on an alpine trail or in a romantic fragrance garden, the Botanic Gardens are an excellent place to set the mood.

2. With Chocolate

Denver offers a wide variety of amazing restaurants. But for something a little different, skip the dinner date and bring an inexpensive engagement ring to Crave Dessert Bar, where you can share decadent gourmet treats such as chocolate-filled strawberries, rich red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, or cheesecake dipped in melted chocolate. You can also enjoy a wide selection of appetizers, coffees, and adult beverages to accompany your dessert.

3. On the Street

Old South Pearl Street is an eclectic shopping district full of distinctive local flavor. Hold hands as you browse vintage bikes, mystery books, boutique wines, and more. Get a massage or sit down and relax at one of Pearl Street’s many delicious eateries, from Sexy Pizza to Budapest Bistro. This charming district reflects the diversity and history of Denver and offers something for everyone. If you choose Pearl Street as one of the best places to propose in Denver for you, just bring the ring along with you and pop the question when the mood strikes, whether it be over a cup of coffee or people watching on a bench.
