Have you already decided that Thanksgiving Day will be the day to ask for their hand?
Have you selected the stunning ring from your short list of affordable engagement rings to put in that little black box?
Have you planned the details of the moment you ask her to marry you? ..... Not yet? Don't worry! I'm here to help. Here are a few simple and romantic wedding proposal ideas to make Thanksgiving Day one to be more than thankful for.
1. Food Proposal: Pass the yams and ask for their hand!
Food proposals are popular, and there's no better day to do a food proposal than a food-centric holiday: Thanksgiving! Like all food proposals, this one will take some planning, but it will be well worth it. The possibilities are endless as far as where you could hide the ring (just don't do it in the turkey--that will be hard to find and no one wants a ring with turkey innards on it!). Here are a few ideas:- Make her a special serving of her favorite dessert, whether it's a slice of pumpkin pie or a few chocolate truffles. Arrange the dessert on a plate, leaving plenty of room for the main event: a diamond engagement ring.
- Plan a champagne toast, tying a ribbon with the ring around the stem of the glass and enlisting help from others to distract her while the glasses are being passed out.
- Sneak away for a few minutes after the dishes have been cleaned up, just the two of you. Bring two mugs of hot cocoa or spiced apple cider. Hand her a mug, along with a box you say has an extra dessert in it. Next to the cookie or pastry, wrap the ring in pretty paper.
