3 Ideas for Your Second Wedding

Posted by My Trio Rings on 23rd Feb 2024

You've done this before, but congratulations are definitely still in order. If you're making that trek down the aisle for the second time (or third, etc.) to slip on those matching wedding bands, you're probably giddy at the chance for lifelong love and happiness.

However, just because it's not your first time down the aisle doesn't mean there's any less planning to do. We're here to help. Here are three helpful ideas for your second wedding.

Do what you want.

This is truly your day. You've done it all before, you know what you would have done differently if you could have, and now you have your chance. If you wanted to wear a hot pink sequin dress down the aisle the first time but your family wouldn't let you, do it now! Or, if you always wanted to wear that traditional white princess dress, but for some reason didn't get to, wear it. Turn whatever ideas you have for your second wedding into a reality, no matter how wild.

If you decide to register, be creative.

You probably already have everything you need for a home. But what do you want? Instead of registering for practical things like you did at your first wedding, why not do a honeymoon registry or register for a nice tent and canoe if you and your spouse-to-be love to go camping together? You could even set up a registry that allows guests to donate to your favorite charity.

Make sure your kids are involved.

If you have children from a previous marriage, they should be the first people who know about your engagement and upcoming nuptials. Also, if you have children from a previous marriage, this second marriage is just as much about combining families as it is committing yourself to another. Make sure your children are in "the know" and are involved. Your daughters and sons could even be included as men/maids-of-honor and/or best (wo)man in second weddings.
